![]() ![]() This software is completely free to download and will work perfectly with your Windows 10 version. Once the defragmentation is complete, you can then download and install the official Windows software from Auslogics. There is a handy button that will allow you to continue on with the cleaning process, so if there were any damaged files that you didn't want to delete, you could just click on the "keep" button to keep them for future use. It will also inform you how many corrupted files it has located and what they are (these are shown in a small window that scrolls across your screen). Once the program has completely scanned and repaired your computer's registry, it will show you all the errors that it has found. It takes just a few minutes to defragment your computer and if you find that your computer runs a little slower after running the program, then that is probably because there are some corrupt / damaged files within your Windows registry which are causing problems. The tool does not require installation or running on your PC, simply run the program and it will scan your hard drive, regardless of what type of operating system you have. What's nice about the Portable version is that it works great on both PC and MAC - even if you have Windows on one of them, you can use the Windows version to defragment and clean up your Windows registry. ![]() Like the full version, Auslogics Disk Defrag Portable comes with a pretty polished interface and a host of useful features which really make this tool a pleasure to work with. Its full screen interface is annoying when used with a mouse, but works well on a touch screen, and the program's capable defrag engine does a good job of optimising your drive.AUSLogics Disk Defrag Portable is an easy to use, quick defragmentation tool that optimises and tests your hard drive in a matter of few simple steps. (For what? We've no idea.) Verdict:Īuslogics Disk Defrag Touch is smartly designed, as close to the Windows 8 look as we've ever seen from a desktop application. Or you might tell the program to move system files to the beginning of the disk, which means defragging could take a lot longer, but you should see a faster system afterwards.Ī simple scheduler then makes it easy to run all this automatically, every day, week or month, or when your PC is idle.Īnd, slightly bizarrely, there's a game-like "levels" scheme where you earn tokens for using the program, recording achievements, improving your status, unlocking secret features, and collecting tokens which apparently you'll be able to "redeem later". An option to skip large file fragments also improves defrag speed without making much difference to your final system performance. You can have the program delete temporary files before defragging, speeding up the process. There are some useful tweaks and settings. But if you still don't have time to run a full defrag, no problem: Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch also includes an "Optimize Programs" section which appears to defragment files relating to a particular application only. Performance is great, as the program is based on Auslogics' regular disk defragger. You choose a drive analyse it, launch a quick or full defrag and then watch as the usual drive map keeps you up-to-date with progress. Get past the visuals and defragging works more or less as you'd expect. It takes your full screen, has the same bold look to the interface, similar layout for its options, and you can swipe left or right on a touch screen, spin the mouse wheel or drag the mouse left or right to see what else is on offer. The program has a very Windows 8-like interface, and we don't just mean "it uses a few colorful tiles". Auslogics Disk Defrag Touch is an unusual disk defragger built for touch-screen computers (although it runs just fine with a mouse and keyboard, too). ![]()
